Find the right solar proposal for your Houston-area home

Houston-area households have different cooling loads, roof layouts and backup-power needs. Compare local solar proposals with clear equipment lists, prices and export-credit assumptions. If storm outages are a concern, ask for a separate battery and backup-circuit design.

Frequently asked questions

Will solar keep my Houston home powered during an outage?

Not necessarily. A standard grid-connected solar system normally shuts down when the grid fails. Backup requires compatible equipment and an approved design, often including batteries. Ask which circuits will operate, how long stored energy may last and whether the system can recharge during an outage.

Is there a federal residential solar tax credit for a new installation?

The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit is not available for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. Do not subtract a 30% homeowner federal credit from a new installation quote. Ask a qualified tax adviser about your own circumstances.

How much will solar cost in Greater Houston?

Your cost depends on system size, roof condition, equipment, batteries, electrical upgrades and financing. Compare written cash prices and financing terms separately. We do not publish an unverified local average or guarantee a payback period.

Can I request quotes before deciding on an installer?

Yes. Submit your town, state, ZIP code and project details. You can compare proposals when installers submit them; submitting an inquiry does not sign a contract. Availability and response times vary.
